DC Announces EARTH ONE, Alfred gets ripped

DC Comics announced today that 2010 will bring us a brand spankin’ new continuity in the form of BATMAN: EARTH ONE and SUPERMAN: EARTH ONE. Both series will tell each hero’s first years in a standalone, graphic novel format. So think Marvel’s Ultimate Universe, but no monthly comics. Now, this doesn’t mean that DC as a whole is going to drop monthly comics, just that they’re ‘exploring every avenue of publishing’. Geoff Johns will be writing BATMAN: EARTH ONE with Gary Frank doing the art.J. Michael Straczynski will be handling the writing for SUPERMAN: EARTH ONE while Shane Davis tackles the art.
They’ve released some of the concept art, which includes an awesomely buff former Royal Marine Alfred.

Sure he’ll stitch you up after a night out. And then he’ll put you to sleep. Forever.
