***UPDATED*** Is Johnny Storm the new Captain America?

The Hollywood trade press is reporting that Marvel Studios has offered the coveted role of Captain America to Chris Evans, also known as the man who played Johnny Storm, aka The Human Torch, in the both of Fox’s  Fantastic Four films. At this point the trades are just reporting that he’s been offered the role, but there is no confirmation at this time whether or not Mr. Evans has accepted the role. You would think that this would be a no-brainer, but there is a big catch attached to the role. Marvel’s plan is for the new Captain America to appear in a ton of Marvel hero films. At least 9 as of right now. These include Joe Johnston’s Captain America film as well as the Avengers film(s) maybe Thor, and any further sequels.
